Constantine Ltd forms part of the Constantine Group of
Companies that was established in the mid-19th Century by
Joseph Constantine. The group was originally involved in
the shipping industry and became one of the largest ship
owners in the United Kingdom at the turn of the 20th
Century.
During the 1940's a policy of diversification was begun
which resulted in a move away from pure shipping and into
ancillary services such as shipping agencies, ship
brokering, freight forwarding and export packing.
In 1976 Wingate & Johnston became part of the Group
and in 1997 the aquisition of Art Services Limited led to
a specialisation in the fine art movement trade and the
formation of the Constantine art services division. In
1999 it was decided to bring all the companies in the
group under the name of Constantine Limited.
Constantine Ltd now has major facilities in England and
Scotland offering unique transport and storage solutions.
